Local Law Enforcement
Roughly 50 vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to law enforcement.
Automobiles, building surfaces and postboxes were marked, in some cases with prohibited symbols, they reported in a statement.
Law enforcement report they were contacted during the night on Wednesday evening, when a individual discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy district of Hanau had been smeared with a red-colored substance.
The substance had been placed in the shape of a banned symbol, they stated.
Officers then discovered multiple other smeared cars and house walls in the adjacent neighborhood.
These symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi symbols.
Police say initial examinations indicate the liquid was most likely human bodily fluid.
"At present there remains no lead as to where it came from; authorities are presently not informed of any harm in association with the event," they added.
Municipal representatives announced they were attempting "to resolve the incident" and have appealed to the community for information.
An important representative commented the incident made him speechless and needed to be solved promptly.
"This act hits the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the extremist violent incident half a decade ago," he posted on online, referring to the death of nine people by a shooter focusing on people of migrant background in 2020.
